    Ⅰ. About oligosaccharide

Oligosaccharides must be confusing to everyone. But many new mothers should be familiar with it. Yes, it's what it says on the baby formula jar: oligosaccharides (fructans). Oligosaccharide is the third-largest type of solid nutrient in breast milk. They play a very important role in the immune system of newborns. They can also detoxify, reduce fire, and relax bowels. And there are more than 200 oligosaccharides in breast milk.

    Ⅱ. Effects of oligosaccharide

    1. Oligosaccharide is indigestible, so they are not easily absorbed by the stomach and small intestine. However, it can directly reach the large intestine and finally becomes the nutrients for good jade bacteria such as lactic acid bacteria and bifidobacteria. And these good jade bacteria will promote the synthesis of acid substances such as lactic acid and acetic acid, inhibiting the proliferation of bad jade bacteria, so as to keep the intestinal environment in a balanced state.

    2. Oligosaccharides can improve constipation problems. The acid produced by good jade bacteria can stimulate gastrointestinal motility, so that food residues and old wastes in the large intestine are not easy to accumulate in the body, thereby reducing the probability of constipation and body odor. In addition, studies have shown that the number of good bacteria in the intestinal tract will increase significantly if you consume about 3g of oligosaccharides per day for two consecutive weeks, so oligosaccharide also have a promising effect on improving constipation.

    3. Oligosaccharide can reduce the chance of tooth decay. The main cause of tooth decay is that food residues remain on the surface of the teeth and become nutrients for bacteria. The molecules of oligosaccharide are larger and are not easily decomposed or utilized by bacteria, so they cannot become nutrients for bacteria, and naturally they are not prone to tooth decay.

    4. Oligosaccharide can prevent arteriosclerosis. It is believed that everyone is familiar with cholesterol, but do you know that cholesterol is not a single substance, but a general term for many substances, including good and bad. For example, high-density lipoprotein (also known as high-density cholesterol, HDL) in the blood can help fat metabolism, reduce excess cholesterol and neutral fat accumulation in the blood vessel wall, thereby effectively preventing arteriosclerosis. The oligosaccharide can increase the effect of good jade bacteria, and can also promote the proliferation of high-density lipoprotein, especially soybean oligosaccharide, fructo-oligosaccharide, etc.
