Triflic Anhydride Mechanism

Trifluoromethylsulfonic acid anhydride (abbreviation: TF2O) is a very widely used reagent in organic synthesis. Its chemical formula is C2F6O5S2 and it is often used in the synthesis of trifluoromethyl sulfonic acid ester compounds, such as trifluoromethyl sulfonic acid ester, trifluoromethyl sulfonic acid amide, etc. Trifluoromethanesulfonic anhydride can effectively convert ketones into enol triflates. The reactivity of Triflates of organic compounds was 2×104~2×105 times stronger than that of the corresponding Tosylates. Trifluoromethanesulfonic acid anhydride as an pharmaceutical intermediate is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry, protein, sugar, vitamins, etc
