Resistant Dextrin 2

Table of Content [Hide]

As we all know, Dietary Fiber is mainly polysaccharide that can't be utilized by human body, that is, polysaccharide that can't be digested by digestive enzymes in human gastrointestinal tract and can't be absorbed and utilized by human body. This kind of polysaccharide mainly comes from the complex carbohydrate of plant cytoderm, which can also be called non-starch polysaccharide, that is, non-α -glucan polysaccharide.

Resistant dextrin, a soluble dietary substance, it belongs to a kind of Dietary Fiber that are allowed by national countries, is mostly resistant to small intestine digestion and mainly fermented in colon.  Its processing raw materials are mainly wheat starch and corn starch, which are obtained by activation reaction under acidic conditions. The content of monosaccharide and disaccharide is less than 0.5%. After starch is processed, it becomes a kind of low-energy glucose, and so does inulin. Their contents are very low.  The difference is that it does not produce flatulence like inulin, and it is also good for infants,  it is also used in many infant foods.  If it is mixed with other prebiotics, it will have a 1+1>2 effect.

Resistance refers to "anti-digestion", which means that it cannot be digested and absorbed by human small intestine. Starch gelatinization is characterized by swelling and splitting at high temperature to form a uniform paste solution. Gelatinized starch is also called "dextrin". Resistant dextrin belongs to low-calorie dextran, which is a water-soluble dietary fiber made from non-transgenic natural corn starch through certain hydrolysis, polymerization, separation and other steps.

There are fiber drinks on the market, like coca cola, milkshake, functional beverage, the ingredients may use polydextrose and resistant dextrin (water-soluble dietary fiber extracted from corn). These are dietary fibers, which can increase satiety, promote intestinal peristalsis and prevent constipation. For example, a 100ml beverage contains 1.5g of dietary fiber, and you can consume 7.5g of dietary fiber after drinking a bottle of beverage, which is equivalent to eating the dietary fiber provided by two apples!  If you don't want to drink and want to make up for the lack of dietary fiber in your daily intake, I suggest you choose some products containing resistant dextrin, which can also replace and supplement the dietary fiber we need.
